Dr. Tejash Shah leads digital health strategy and business development for Samsung's Strategy & Innovation Center. In this role, Tejash envisions and drives the execution of new health-focused businesses for Samsung, consistent with the overall strategy. Doing this involves investments in digital health startups, partnerships with leading institutions, and creation of new business opportunities. Prior to Samsung, Tejash was with Merck & Co., a top 5 global biopharmaceutical company. There, he worked with the executive committee to define divisional, functional, and regional strategy. In his last project there, Tejash led the creation of and product development for a new health data services business, built on the growing healthcare consumerism trend. Prior to Merck, Tejash worked as a consultant with McKinsey & Co's New York office. There, he served clients across the healthcare value chain. Tejash began his career as an Emergency Medicine physician at Cornell & Columbia's Presbyterian Hospitals. He earned his M.D. from Albert Einstein College of Medicine and his B.A. and M.A. in Economics from Boston University.

Mike is a serial VC-backed entrepreneur with 2 NASDAQ IPOs and 5 strategic trade sales under his belt. He is also a startup mentor at TechStars, Betaspring, Founders Institute, MassChallenge, Greentown Labs, Hacking Health EcoFuel; public speaker; professor of entrepreneurship; entrepreneurship competition judge, including the prestigious Hult Prize and Hult Impact Challenge; angel investor; and board member. He is currently Managing Director of both StartupNext Boston (part of Techstars) and ProtoHack Boston and also serves as Global Professor of Entrepreneurship, Innovation, Marketing, and Leadership at Hult International Business School. Formerly with McKinsey, he also serves as a consultant and senior advisor to national and regional governments, global corporations, startups and early stage investors.
Julia develops strategic partnerships and joint ventures with corporations in the healthcare space to find business development, licensing, acquisition, and strategic investment opportunities among Plug and Play's startup network.
Plug and Play is a startup investor and accelerator with portfolio companies such as Dropbox, PayPal, Lending Club, Zoosk, and SoundHound.
Prior to Plug and Play, Julia worked in divorce financial planning and BD for a boutique consulting firm serving high net worth individuals and spent 4 years at Deloitte Consulting in their Oracle Package Technology practice.
Gurdane Bhutani is a founder and managing partner at FundRx, a New York based venture capital firm focused on healthcare and life science.
Prior to FundRx, worked in the New York office of Bain & Company as a consultant to clients across the financial services, private equity, and technology sectors.
Gurdane holds a degree in Computer Science and Public Policy from Duke University, where he was an Angier B Duke Scholar.
Didier is Managing Director for the Nestlé Skin Health Investigation, Education, Longevity Development (SHIELD) network. The SHIELD network, launched in December 2014, serves as a forum to develop solutions and techniques to promote a life course of healthy skin. Through medical investigation, education and application of skin health technologies, SHIELD aims to address the rising skin health needs that arise with rapid population aging. Didier has scientific degrees in Chemistry from Arts et Metiers engineering school (Paris). Didier joined Galderma R&D in 2003 as Head of Project Management and assumed the role of head of Global Development from 2006 to 2011.
Jessica is Patent Counsel at Galderma and assists Nestle Skin Health SHIELD in Intellectual Property and Open Innovation matters. Before joining Galderma, Jessica was the VP of Intellectual Property for Prediqtus, LLC an innovation strategy and advisory company that uses next-gen predictive analytics for patent portfolio mining for Fortune 500 clients and launched a number of medical device start-up companies. She was an associate at Volpe and Koenig, an IP Boutique law firm in Philadelphia and worked in University technology transfer at Kansas State University and the University of Kansas. Prior to joining the legal field, Jessica worked as a genetic engineer in plant pathology.
She has a J.D. from Temple University, an MS in molecular biology and a bachelor’s degree in Biology from Kansas State University.
Jeff is currently leading Nestlé Skin Health’s Global Commercial IT organization and is working within the business to develop digital strategies that enable growth in consumer interaction and new revenue streams. Jeff joined Galderma in 2008 and was responsible for deploying internal technology solutions that enhanced interactions between Galderma and dermatology healthcare professionals. The past three years has shifted to focus on defining a digital strategy and supporting technologies to empower consumers and our healthcare customers to self-explore skin health topics while inserting Galderma as a trusted voice within those digital journeys. Current activity includes participation in the Galderma Digital Ecosystem development that targets revolutionizing the skin health industry.
Jeff’s background spans global IT management in the oil and gas sector, envisioning / delivery of consumer and franchisee digital solutions for a national real estate company, and technology consulting across multiple industries.
Jeff holds a Bachelor of Science degree in math from College of the Ozarks.
Cassandra is a vlogger, on-line personality, model, writer, spokesperson, activist, and – perhaps most notably— makeup and skincare guru who became known for developing techniques to flawlessly cover her acne prone skin. Today her work primarily focuses on skincare/acne and self-love, connecting to her fans with an upbeat and positive attitude, serving as a role model for acceptance. Cassandra has been featured in Refinery29, InStyle, Women’s Health, Allure, Buzzfeed, People, Huffington Post, and so much more.
Crispin co-chairs the NY Chapter of Aging2.0, is a Strategic Advisor to Aging2.0's VC Fund, Generator Ventures, and their Angel Fund. Aging2.0 is a global innovation platform and ecosystem that connects entrepreneurs, technologists, designers, investors, senior care providers and seniors themselves. Crispin is an impact investor in the aging space across US, Europe and Asia. He assists private investors and family offices to seek out meaningful double bottom line opportunities, while also mentoring start-ups that are developing products and services that enhance the lives of older adults.
Dr. Laurent Chantalat is the head scientist Skin Health Investigation, Education, Longevity Development (SHIELD). He is leading and responsible for the science and technology convergence for SHIELD.
Previously, Dr. Chantalat spent nearly 20 years in the pharmaceutical industry in Europe at Aventis now Sanofi and Galderma. Of those years, 15 were dedicated to dermatology. He holds a PhD in Physics and more specifically in protein crystallography. He lead several projects in drug discovery and development. He has special interests in natural products as therapeutics.
Yvan joined Nestlé Skin Health as Global Vice President Communications, Digital and Congresses in 2015.
Yvan’s main responsibility is to develop Nestlé Skin Health’s communications and digital strategy to build a robust corporate reputation for the company.
He has extensive experience in all areas of communication, having worked for more than 20 years in communications roles for companies such as Dow Corning, Novartis Consumer Health, and more recently Medtronic, where he was VP International Communication. His career has taken him all over the world and he has lived in Belgium, Switzerland, Japan and the U.S. He has won several communications and leadership awards, including the Communique awards for the best in-house communications team in Europe.
He has a Master’s Degree in Translation from Erasmushogeschool Brussels, Belgium, a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising and Public relations from Willemsfonds, Belgium, a Postgraduate degree in Leadership Capability from Glasgow Caledonian University and has also attended the IMD business school.
He is Belgian and speaks 6 languages fluently. He lives in Féchy, near Lausanne, Switzerland.
Russell is the Founder and President of SOMOLOCAL, a digital marketing and social media firm. He has 15 years of experience working within the Wall Street financial markets and focusing on technology and marketing. He has created immersive and interactive experiences through virtual reality technology for customers in multiple industries, including the medical space. He has also designed and implemented digital marketing campaigns and built, managed, and optimized corporate and consumer website properties from inception to completion. He has a BA from the State University of New York at Albany.
Annie Lamontagne is Canadian, naturalized Brazilian in 2014. She completed her Ph.D. at the Center for Research and Graduate Studies on the Americas of the University of Brasilia (2011-2015). She obtained her Masters in the same program (2010). She graduated in Political Science (major) and Communication (minor) from the University of Ottawa (1996). Her professional experience includes international development, training and coordination work for health innovation at Hacking Health Global as well as in human rights NGOs and teaching in the Czech Republic, Belgium and Brazil. Her main areas of interest are health innovation, institutional logics (institutional analysis), corporate social responsibility, impact assessment, human rights and interethnic conflicts management.
Michelle Lee is a user experience researcher and design strategist at Slalom Consulting and has worked with clients of various industries such as financial services, pharmaceuticals, mass media, and retail -- all ranging from startups to Fortune 500 companies. While her specialty is designing for web and iOS applications, she is always keen on experimenting with and continuously learning upon human-centered, design-thinking principles that can be applicable across any product. She has also served as an Organizer and Mentor at Startup Weekend NYC.
Peter is an entrepreneur with a passion for health information technology. Prior to starting his own company he spent 12 years in the pharmaceutical industry in Canada, the United States, and Switzerland. He worked in numerous capacities including Marketing, Sales, Field Force Effectiveness, and Business Analytics. His most recent position before joining Diamax Information Systems and founding MDPRESS was as Regional Director of Marketing for Dermatology in Europe. Peter developed MDPRESS as an innovative platform that harnesses the rich data space in pharma to provide actionable insights for clients.
With a background in international business and a specialization in the healthcare sector and therapeutic innovation, Isabelle Lusseyran joined Hacking Health 3 years ago as a motivated volunteer. Since 2015, she has been in charge of sponsorships and partnerships to support the Hacking Health movement at the global scale. Her professional experience includes project management, consulting services, business development, partner relationship, mentoring, marketing and communication in the healthcare sector, in pharmaceutical companies, hospitals and not-for-profit organizations. What energizes her is bringing people together, people with various skills, tastes, from different backgrounds, cultures and organizations, to create meaningful solutions to improve people's health.
Melissa is Executive Director of the Global Coalition on Aging, the leading business voice on aging policy and strategy, aimed at reshaping how global leaders approach and prepare for the 21st century's profound shift in population aging.
Melissa is a Managing Director at High Lantern Group, a strategic consulting firm that helps position organizations, their leaders and their ideas in the public arena. Her 15 years of public affairs experience includes specialties in policy-related and CEO-level strategic communications, advocacy campaigns and coalition building.
Melissa holds an MBA from Georgetown University and a BA in Journalism and Psychology from the University of Mississippi.
Allan is a New York based creative running a small studio focusing on visual brand systems, user friendly websites and mobile applications.
Raised cross-continental between London and New York, Allan studied at Central Saint Martins and began his career as a digital designer in London. In 2007, Allan returned to New York to work in marketing as a senior graphic designer and eventually an art director. After years of working with companies, ranging from big brands to nonprofits, Allan went out on his own knowing the world was ready for a more simplified visual approach.
Whether his client is a tech startup, a nonprofit in Washington, DC or fashionable restaurant in Brooklyn, Allan believes good design should always follow function by prioritizing message clarity and user functionality.
Luc is co-founder and executive director of Hacking Health, a global movement to improve healthcare innovation, and of the Hacking Health Accelerator, a seed-stage investment fund and support program for Digital Health startups.
Harvard MBA, McGill Electrical Engineer, experienced executive and entrepreneur in MedTech and Digital Health, Luc is known as a passionate driver of innovation, creativity and positive change.
He has been General Manager at EMR vendor NightingaleMD, vice-president of Consumer Health at TELUS Health, and vice-president of business development at Telesystem, where he headed Plexo medical clinics and services.
Catia has over 15 years’ leadership experience in managing global teams on new business commercial execution, strategy and marketing, in several markets across four continents. In her current role at Nestle, she is responsible for managing a global network of Innovation Hubs and with her team she drives the creation of key strategic digital platforms for Nestle from conception to implementation.
Aaron is an entrepreneur and award winning mathematician. He is the founder of a behavioral technology and intelligence company, Psocratic, and is an advisor and investor to startups in the NYC community. He has experience raising investment for startups, driving business development for organizations, and leveraging data science and transparency to steer business strategy and product development.
Dr. Warren Winkelman is Senior Medical Director and Head of Medical Innovation for SHIELD (Nestlé Skin Health Investigation, Education, Longevity Development). He is a board-certified dermatologist with more than 25 years’ experience in innovation science, patient care, medical education, clinical and qualitative research, and medical affairs. Prior to joining SHIELD, Warren served in medical leadership positions for Schering-Plough, Merck, Janssen and Galderma. He holds a PhD in eHealth Innovation and Health Policy, Management and Evaluation from University of Toronto, an MBA in healthcare management from Binghamton University, an MD from SUNY-Buffalo School of Medicine and is a proud graduate of the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education at CCNY.
